Dewey's Critter Care

About us
Growing up in York, S.C., we always had dogs, cats and chickens around the place. Plus, Mom was sometimes convinced to let my 3 brothers and me keep hamsters, guinea pigs and budgies(parakeets). And, when she wasn’t looking, we’d sneak in the occasional snake or critter we had caught while playing in the woods behind the house, poor woman.

Then one beautiful day, on my parents' wedding anniversary, Dad came home with a goat for Mom as an anniversary present. She was very impressed and excited, well maybe not so much! So, I became the caretaker for Hannah, the goat, Ulysses (my family called him Useless) the Black Lab, some beagles, a mess of chickens and some quickly multiplying rabbits. Sometime during all the hub-bub, I decided to be a veterinarian.
I came to Clemson University to study pre-veterinary science and, while attending Clemson, spent some time working as a veterinary assistant at The Clemson Animal Hospital. Alas, my dream of becoming a veterinarian was not to be. Fast forward to the present, today I live in Central with my wonderful wife, 2 good looking kids and Midnight, the rabbit ( I call her Foo-Foo as in little bunny…). We attend Clemson United Methodist Church where I am a dedicated Cub Scout leader.

I started Dewey’s Critter Care (DCC) as a pet sitting and critter care job that would allow me to continue to interact with various furry, and some not so furry, friends. My son, Mike, is also a part of DCC team whenever I need an additional hand, he truly loves fur babies and other critters too.

We provide caring, honest, dependable critter care and we hope you’ll contact us for your critter care needs. Let us be your critter care and pet sitting team.

Thanks,
Dewey
